I Wonder...?

I wonder if all of the sinkholes that have been appearing lately across the United States are our Heavenly Father letting us know what kind of foundation we have been building upon or just part of the so-called natural order of things?

I wonder similar thoughts about all the cars that keep running into people's homes and businesses down this way!

Barely a day (or night) goes by without some out of control car/driver crashing through walls into a bedroom or living room...or into a group of diners or shoppers! There must be easier ways to get a thrill!

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! Indeed. Is Tim Fischer insisting that only professionals be allowed to operate motor vehicles, and only then during the course of performing their duties for the public good?

You surprise me, Jerry...that you've even heard of Tim Fischer; but I suppose after that terrible, tragic and totally unnecessary random shooting of our young Aussie baseball player in the little town of Duncan - and Tim Fischer's calling for a tourism boycott of the States (which was more than a little over-the-top) in a protest over the shooting and his comment re US gun laws, is when you became familiar with his name.

I won't interfere or pass comment about US gun laws; it really has nothing to do with us here in the country. They are US laws; and I prefer not to poke my nose in.

Our gun laws are much different here; but we still have a lot of shootings and deaths by gunshot. So I refuse to pass comment. I believe it would be hypocritical of me to do so.

It's a bit like the kettle calling the pot black.

If the clowns don't kill others and each other with guns; they find other methods to do so...knives; machetes; axes; bombs...the list goes on...what do we do? Ban everything!

I'm hiding my soup spoons from now on! They can be dangerous weapons! ;)

By the way, Fischer is a keen rail train man. If he gets his way, we'll have trains crashing into our houses, maybe! Which reminded me of this old song that I've not heard in years and years...

I'll quit now before this turns into a novel!!!

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! In my last reply, I was not trying to suggest that you may agree with the honorable Mr. Fischer in his call for a tourism boycott of America. I was just trying to be as ridiculous as he was being. For the thing is that we have lots of laws in place to keep firearms out of the hands of miscreants, but miscreants rarely follow them. So, many in this country are calling for the banning of all privately-held firearms in order to eliminate gun violence among the general population, which would be like wanting to ban the private use of motor vehicles in order to eliminate the possibility of some yahoo taking a drunken drive through a shopping mall. This makes sense to those who do not drive, but to everyone else, it would be utterly ridiculous. For the vast majority of drivers operate their vehicles in a safe and proper manner. Be assured that the vast majority of the firearms in this country are held by responsible citizens. I could go on, but I think you get what I am trying to say.

P.S.: Rusty Draper's song was really cute!

I understand what you're saying, Jerry...it's pretty much in line with what I wrote.

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! Good. I thought I might be in trouble again.

Whoa, what happened to your comment before the last you left? Did you delete it?

Well, I am feeling like an idiot, my dear Lee. For I found that comment still waiting to be published! Don't worry, I'll figure out some way to blame it on Adullamite. Sigh.

Hahahahaha! Yeah...let's blame Adullamite. He did it! It's his fault!

PS....I was wondering what happened to my comment, too...I knew you had read it because of your response...so I figured it would be more prudent for me to just sit back quietly and wordless; and see how it all unfolded, than to pass further comment on its whereabouts! ;)

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! Arlynda also likes to just sit back and watch me make a fool out of myself. Sigh.
