Stupid

[Stupid] is a rather derogatory term that is often used to make fun of what is considered to be foolish behavior and thinking in impolite circles.  To use it in a sentence and provide some context: someone with more crass than class might say in response, “No sh**, Sherlock—even stupid people know that!"

What is not so well known is that the word is actually referring to being in a state of mind similar to a stupor, which is where awareness and comprehension of circumstances is essentially non-existent.

Be assured that there are a lot of stupid people when it comes to recognizing our Heavenly Father’s active participation in our daily lives.  For aside from things happening (both bad and good) each and every day that defies natural logic, all of us have (or at least have had) thoughts containing information that has led to ideas that could not have possibly been the product of personal experience and what is generally considered to be natural intelligence and yet, far too many keep going about their business without a clue.

If you are having hard time with that, just take a good hard look at the word commonly used to refer to the natural ability to know and understand things: IN-TELL-igence.  Could this not be actually referring to being told from within?

No, none of this is meant to be as insulting as it sounds.  For much of the blame for all of the stupidity rests upon what has been so widely taught in our Heavenly Father’s name for far too long.  For instead of encouraging us to want to believe that He truly is actually with us, far too many have been led to believe that our Heavenly Father is (at best) merely looking down upon us from Heaven.

Making that even worse is what has been taught about our Heavenly Father being an angry God, who looks down from His throne to see if any of us are living righteous lives in accordance to the instructions given in His Holy Bible.  For anyone who can be truly honest with themselves knows that they cannot measure up to His perceived standards of perfection.  Subsequently, the last thing they would want to believe is that He is actually there with them.

No, the Biblical accounts of our Heavenly Father having personal interaction with the likes of [Enoch], [Noah], [Abraham] and [Moses] have not been ignored, but the emphasis has been mostly placed upon the false notion that they had proven themselves worthy of His favor when the absolute truth of the matter truly is that there has never been anything good about any of us apart from Him.

Yes, it is indeed written: Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken falsely, and your tongue mutters wicked things. [Isaiah 59:1-3 NIV]

However, it would do us well to think of this separation as being like being in a bad marriage where the husband and wife still live under the same roof—even sleep in the same bed together, while their hearts and minds are worlds apart.  For the absolute truth of the matter truly is that our Heavenly Father has always been with each and every one of us since the womb, but of what good is this to either Him or us when we do not want to recognize His presence?

Yes, He could make it undeniable by just making Himself physically visible, but some would only want to bow down before Him out of fear of what He could obviously do to them if they did not while others would only want to bow down before Him out of desire for personal gain when He wants to be loved for the goodness of His heart.  Hence: the real reason for why He chose to hide His omnipresence from our physical sight.

No, our Heavenly Father’s ways are not nearly as mysterious as it has been so widely taught, but they are much higher (in regards to purpose) than our own.  Therefore, they can appear to be quite a mystery—especially to those walking around in a stupor.

Speaking of such, I recently had quite an experience.  For I woke up with my physical sight significantly impaired, and as if that was not enough to put a great scare into me, the only voice in my head that I could hear was the one telling me that my eyes would remain blurry since there was nothing that could be medically done to fix them.

Yes, it was rather stupid of me to despair.  For I know, which goes far beyond merely having a great amount of faith on account of the [witness] of His Holy Spirit, that nothing can happen unless our Heavenly Father allows it to, and I also know that everything that has ever happened to me has been for His glory and my own ultimate good.

No, none of our thoughts should be taken too much for granted.  For the devil and his demons are allowed to mess with our heads at times.

Alas, I fear that I am still far from being perfected, which should serve as sufficient proof in and of itself of such.  For the one who fears is not perfected in love [1 John 4:16-18].

Hey Jerry, excellent article here. Thanks for being so candied about our humanity. Everything you have written here I agree with. I too find myself in a stupor every now and then and need the witness of the Holy Spirit to guide me out of it.

The other thing here is acceptance. Acceptance of our our depravity and God's purity. The fact that we will lose it at times but when we do the Holy Spirit will remind us that we do have a heavenly Father who is willing to love and forgive if only we would go to him in these times of our messes.

And that perfect love, I think sometimes we tend to forfeit it when we are overwhelmed with our circumstance and situations. Being perfected in God's love means we have nothing to fear from Him and that we can trust Him wholeheartedly to do what is right by Him. It all comes down to trust.

Thanks for this posts though. I thoroughly enjoy reading your stories and musings here.

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear GD!!! Thank you so very much for adding even more to this message, which is the way our Heavenly Father wants it to be. For all truth and knowledge first comes from the witness of His Holy Spirit, which is confirmed by His Holy Scriptures and then echoed by His chosen servants, who can be anyone in the body of Christ and even some of those who are not) with all of this being meant to make it to where an unbeliever has to spend more time and energy denying the truth of the message than what it would take to just humbly accept it.

Of course, nothing should be taken too much for granted. For the devil and his demons are quite adept at making something false sound oh so very true, and our Heavenly Father delights in making things clear for those who are willing to humble themselves enough to simply ask Him for His help--all in accordance to what He wants to accomplish at the time, which may very well include leaving us in a state of confusion for a little while, which is meant to add all the more to our joy when it is over.

This is so true Jerry. I am going to share it with my husband. I think he will enjoy the read and your writing style.

Just looking at your tags over on the side. Lots of interesting topics here...

Hi Jerry,
just read this post. That's right, our iniquities (inherited through the first Adam) have separated us from God because our earthly intelligence questions God's word (did God say? asked the serpent) and causes us to go astray from true wisdom, doing what God tells us not to do,as did the first Adam. If you notice, the first Adam's son was 'in his own likeness' which was the 'disobedient to God likeness'. This is why we have to be born again of God's Holy Spirit and become a new creation so that we can have our minds renewed in Christ Jesus and become like Him. He is the second Adam, the express image of God, allowing all who come to Him to become children of God in Him. You are right when you say we cannot measure up to His standard of perfection, at least not through the carnal mind. We have to have the mind of Christ in order to please God and that comes through the teaching of the Holy Spirit, gradually.

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Brenda!!! When you are given the time, please consider what I was given to say in at least:

http://fishhawkdroppings.blogspot.com/2009/10/bittersweet-refinements-chapter-v.html

http://fishhawkdroppings.blogspot.com/2009/10/bittersweet-refinements-chapter-xix.html

http://fishhawkdroppings.blogspot.com/2009/10/bittersweet-refinements-chapter-xx.html

http://fishhawkdroppings.blogspot.com/2009/10/bittersweet-refinements-chapter-xx.html

It would be better to start at the very beginning of Bittersweet Refinements. In fact it would be best to start at the very beginning of FishHawk Droppings. For it now contains all of the books (except for one) that our Heavenly Father has given me to publish in the order that they are meant to be read. Please, do not hesitate to say so if you believe that I have been woefully deceived about some things--maybe even everything.

Will read these posts Jerry, I read some of the posts on your life story when I first came across your blog and found them very interesting. I cannot believe that anyone could have put together such a blog as this, but then I'm very green at blogs, you obviously have a lot of knowledge of the internet workings. I think 'links' might interest me, I shall have to look into it. I cannot imagine me saying 'Jerry, you have been woefully deceived about everything', and neither do I imagine that you have been, I do enjoy discussing the scriptures though and am sure I shall learn something by reading your posts.

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Brenda!!! Be assured that our Heavenly Father should get all of the glory, and in regards to possibly being woefully deceived, this is something that the devil and at least one of his demons love to hit me over the head with on a daily (hourly, actually) basis. For almost everything that I want to believe was given to me by our Heavenly Father either goes too far for some and not far enough for others, which has left me languishing in obscurity since when He first started making Himself real to me. Subsequently, it is quite reasonable to conclude that all of those "God-fearing" people couldn't possibly be in the wrong, but just before Satan has me down for the count, He reminds me of all of His other special messengers who were ignored by those who openly professed to be His loyal followers.
